Ukraine War: How Finland is preparing for Russian invasion

Countries bordering Russia such as Finland say they are very concerned by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and are readying defences.

The usually neutral country is considering applying to join NATO, to be strategically protected in a way that it’s neighbour Ukraine was not.

Finland has a strong, cultural memory of conflict with Russia too, after it was invaded by it’s larger neighbour in 1939/ 40 in what became known as the Winter War.

A huge army of reservists are now getting ready, in case conflict in Ukraine heads their way.
