Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde ‘split’ after nearly two years together

Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are “taking a break” from their relationship after nearly two years together, it has been reported.

The former One Direction star, 28, and actress and director, 38, have been in a relationship since working together on Wilde’s latest film, Don’t Worry Darling, confirming their relationship early last year.

News of their split was reported in People Magazine, who called the breakup, “very amicable”.

Multiple sources confirmed the breakup to the magazine, with one telling them: “He’s still touring and is now going abroad. She is focusing on her kids and her work in LA”.

Sky News has contacted both Styles and Wilde for comment.

Both stars have previously said they have received online abuse and “toxic negativity” about their relationship, despite their attempts to keep it out of the public eye.

Wilde split up with her former partner, Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis, 47, two years ago, after nearly 10 years together. The couple have two children, son Otis Alexander, eight, and daughter Daisy Josephine, six.

More on Harry Styles

Just last month, Wilde was pictured at Styles’ LA concert, dancing with her children.

Earlier this year, Wilde spoke out about being publicly served with custody documents while on stage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in April, calling the incident “vicious” and “scary”.

She was successful in the first part of the custody battle, with the judge ruling that the children’s home state is California, rather than New York as Sudeikis had hoped to establish.

The film Don’t Worry Darling, which was released in September, has been somewhat overshadowed by repeated speculation about some of the cast members not getting on.

In September, a short video of Styles and fellow cast member Chris Pine at Venice Film Festival went viral, after fans speculated it showed the pop star spitting on the Hollywood star.

Representatives for Pine at the time denied the incident took place, calling it an “odd illusion of sorts”. Styles went on to joke about it at his Madison Square Garden gig in New York.

Wilde also refuted that there was an on-set feud between herself and her leading lady, British actress Florence Pugh, telling Elle magazine the rumours were “untruths”.

Don’t Worry Darling is a psychological thriller set in the 1950s, with Wilde appearing in the film as well as working behind the camera.

Actor Shia LaBeouf was originally cast in the leading man role but was later replaced by Styles.

One of the biggest music stars in the world, Styles is currently performing in Mexico as part of a world tour which runs until March 2023.

He has recently received a glut of music award nominations including the Mercury Prize, the MTV EMAs and The Grammys, for which he has seven nods.

Wilde is slated to direct the film Perfect, about American gymnast Kerri Strug competing for gold in the 1996 Olympics. She will also be working on an as yet untitled Marvel project according to movie and TV database IMDB.
